CITIES SKYLINES MODS NEXUS MODS
Is there a way to hand over mods to someone else in case I quit? Or would they have to create a new item? How invasive is your installer? When I installed Curseforge for Minecraft, it also got me Overwolf and yet another overlay, and I'd prefer not to support that. Can I be lazy and just list my mod, but link for downloads to github? How would I - in theory thanks to boformer - list dependencies that are not on Nexus? Do you support the Origin version of the game as well? Do I need to do anything special beyond not using Steam's APIs? How's your installer work? I guess it goes to the local mods or assets folders, correct? Can it unzip stuff? How does it deal with dependencies? Is it able to detect and warn when a user has both the steam and nexus version of a mod? Can I list conflicts so that users get warned about them?
Is there an integration with github such that releases published there are pulled to your site?
Is there a way to publish alphas / pre-releases without forcing them to everyone like on the workshop? Unfortunately LSM sources on github are outdated.

a building and a bench to go in front of it using the local version of the bench for the building instead of the workshop one.Īlso the code for fixing it should probably go into LSM to avoid issues as that mod reworks most of the loading code already. So far we mostly had the inverse problem asset creators who both created e.g.

LSM is able to find the steam urls of missing assets, but idk how to proceed from there. It might be possible to create a mod to automatically replace steam assets by local (nexus) ones when loading the game, but that would require some database to do the mapping. As far as I've heard this would both mean that players would have to start a new save if they want to entirely switch to Nexus, and that asset creators would have to do a lot of their work twice, once using the props from the steam workshop and once using those from nexus.

If you need any help getting started, please feel free to reach out to me!Īnother note on dependencies: While mods should work fine, the game does distinguish between the local and steam versions of assets. I wrote the code for that support myself as I do really love playing with all the great mods for this game.
